As in Makkah, ownership in Madinah is limited to the Cabinet-approved geographic scope of June 2026, and, for individuals, to Muslim buyers.
The 10 approved zones
- Rua Al Madinah, the giga-project immediately east of the Prophet’s Mosque.
- Downtown Madinah, about 3 km south-west of the Mosque.
- Dar Al Hijrah, about 3.5 km south-west.
- Knowledge Economic City, about 7 km east.
- Mishraf, about 9 km east.
- Al-Ghurrah, about 12 km north-east.
- Al-Mahwa, about 9 km south-east.
- Diyar Al-Muqarr, about 13 km south.
- Madinah Zones (1) and (2), districts defined by the official geographic scope, north-west and south of the centre respectively.
Zone positions above derive from the official zone geometry published on the portal.
Checking a specific property
Zone boundaries matter enormously to eligibility and value. Before you commit to anything, verify the property sits inside the current published scope on the Saudi Properties portal. This check takes minutes and prevents expensive mistakes.
